Fireproof movie update

Some new information on the movie Fireproof, being made by Sherwood Pictures (Facing the Giants, Flywheel). The release date is now being listed as August 2008, and we now have a summary:

SYNOPSIS:

Lt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter's adage: Never leave your partner behind. Inside burning buildings, it's his natural instinct. In the cooling embers of his marriage, it's another story.

After a decade of marriage, Caleb and Katherine Holt have drifted so far apart that they are ready to move on without each other. Yet as they prepare to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb's dad asks his son to try an experiment: The Love Dare.

While hoping The Love Dare has nothing to do with his parents' newfound faith, Caleb commits to the challenge. But can he attempt to love his wife while avoiding God's love for him? Will he be able to demonstrate love over and over again to a person that's no longer receptive to his love? Or is this just another marriage destined to go up in smoke?

You can hear Kirk talking about this on www.wayofthemasterradio.com

He said it was a joy to work with this cast, because they pray before shooting, etc. He is really excited about this movie.

I believe it is the Oct. 25, Hour 2 broadcast of the radio show.

I just heard the quick interview with Kirk Cameron and the director on the radio. My heart jumped when I heard about the subject of the movie. Helping those heal from Divorce is a ministry that I am involved with. It is very hard to see the pain caused from divorce. I know I am 6 yers divorced. I know God's heart is to heal marriages, prevent divorce and reconcile 1st marriages. I am so excited for this movie. To know that there will be many couples that are struggling watching. This will plant a seed of what God's spirit will do to an individual and a couple. God Bless you. I will be praying for all of you.

I heard Kirk talk about Fireproof on KLOVE....my wife and I are part of an Internatinal Christian peer ministry called Retrouvaille that ministers to couples who are trying to heal troubled and broken marriages...we teach the importance of God being the third person in a marriage...and central to our program is that we each must make decisions to commit, to love, to forgive and to trust...they are not acting on feelings..they are conscious decisions...sounds alot like what Kirk was saying on KLOVE about the film's Love Dare premise...can't wait to see it next year. If any couple wants to know more about Retrouvaille they can visit www.helpourmarriage.org

I had no idea that it was time for Kirk to make another movie. Hopefully the film comes out early than expect date. Kirk has grown up into the roles that he really wants to do. The roles can set out examples along with the bible scriptures that help the up and downs of the marriage. Keep the prayers simple. God Bless You, Silver Spring, Maryland

I recently had the worst year of my marraige and thought that it was over for my wife and me. I let pride and anger rule over me even though I called myself a christian. I thought I could control my wife and force her to love me and almost lost her on the way. I watched Facing the Giants and saw that with God all things are possible. I surrounded myself with Godly music and started getting back into the Word. I started praying on my knees. Things were getting better but still not the best. Then I saw Flywheel and saw that I should dedicate everything to the Lord for His will. I dedicated my marraige to Him. Honor my wife for His honor. Things are better and getting better everyday. Then I saw previews for FireProof. I was floored. I am a fireman also and just the previews alone reminded me of how I was and how my marraige was. I was a hero in others eyes because of the recent California fires but not in my wife's eyes. I cant wait for the movie. I cant wait to see what the Lord has to teach me through the new Kendricks movie.

I wrote to our local theatre, asking if this movie would be shown there and they told me that this film doesn't have a distributer for theaatrical release. How are we suppose to see it and support Christian movies? Does anyone know how to go about getting this movie shown for the public???
