Karen Kingsbury's Like Dandelion Dust movie update

According to Karen's latest newsletter:

"I can’t share all details at this time, but I can tell you that the influence of the Lord was very apparent during filming, and that many people turned to God for the first time because of working on this movie. The footage I’ve seen is unbelievable – so strong that everyone is talking about Like Dandelion Dust being a candidate for future awards.






"Starting today, the producers will post weekly videos about “The Making of Like Dandelion Dust”. The first video shows my experience being on the set of my first movie. God has something big in store for this film, and for the producers who so faithfully stuck to the game plan of making a top-notch, A-list quality film with the very real issues of abuse and sacrifice, but with no cussing, and nothing that would deter from the message of the book. God is so good!"

VeggieTales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything Movie

LOS ANGELES, May 31, 2006 -- Hoist the mainstay! Trim the sails! Paint the poop deck!?! - it's BIG time for Bob and Larry! Universal Pictures brings everyone's favorite talking vegetables back to the big screen worldwide in early 2008 with the release of The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything -- A VeggieTales Movie. The CG-animated family film is based on Big Idea's enormously successful VeggieTales franchise and features the creative team behind the series, Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki. The announcement was made today by Universal marketing heads, Adam Fogelson and Eddie Egan, and Big Idea COO, Terry Pefanis.

The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything -- A VeggieTales Movie will be directed by Mike Nawrocki and is based on a script written by Phil Vischer, who will also serve as executive producer through his production company, Jellyfish Labs. Big Idea's David Pitts will produce. The film will feature an original soundtrack by Kurt Heinecke.

Cast with a boatload of VeggieTales stars, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything is a comedic adventure filled with family-friendly lessons on the importance of doing what is right, even when it's difficult and discovering that real heroes don't have to be tall, strong, handsome ... or even human.

VeggieTales' second feature film follows the highly successful 2002 release of Jonah?A VeggieTales Movie, that grossed over $25 million theatrically. The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything -- A VeggieTales Movie opens in modern day suburbia at the local pirate themed restaurant, where derring-do and turkey legs go hand-in-hand five nights a week. But not for Sedgewick, Elliot and George (Mr. Lunt, Larry the Cucumber and Pa Grape). While they love all things piratical and dream of taking the stage in the big show, Elliot's timidity, Sedgewick's laziness and George's lack of self-confidence relegate them to busing tables and refilling drinks.

When they finally do get up the courage to audition, the three would-be swashbucklers manage only to destroy half the stage set. Out of luck and out of work, they stand dejectedly outside the restaurant as a strange, ancient-looking metal ball lands at their feet. It is a "Helpseeker," sent from another time and place in search of heroes. After scanning the three moping misfits, it sets in motion events that will send them back to the 17th century to face real pirates in a real pirate adventure, and in the process challenge everything they believe about themselves.

The Wager movie coming later this year

Synopsis:

Nominated for an Academy Award, Michael T. Steele (Randy Travis) has reached a pinnacle that no other Christian has. Unaware, he has now been cast as the lead in a supernatural drama, as the center focus of a wager between God and Satan. Like the Old Testament accounting of Job, it is up to Michael Steele to determine the winner.

His Joan of Arc sister, Annie (Nancy Stafford) is the only bastion of security in the now tumbling world of Michael Steele. A conniving agent (Jude Cicollola) and his long time chauffer (David Morin) try their best to control his chaotic Hollywood lifestyle while his co-star Cassandra (Candice Cameron) has other ideas. The Wager is a powerful parable examining the Sermon on the Mount and how to live it in today’s world.

Claiming that the Sermon on the Mount is an impossible standard, Satan has chosen Steele to prove his point in this wager with the Almighty. Agreeing to the choice, the true test is if Michael can live out the truths of Matthew 5, 6, and 7 in the final days before the awards. THE WAGER follows Steel as he copes with his career, his crumbling marriage, and struggles with his faith - not to mention a few diabolical tricks and temptations by Satan.

Adapting Prince Caspian

A fascinating glimpse into what we can expect in the next installment of the Chronicles of Narnia movie franchise. Hidden Secrets movie coming April 30th

An interesting new Christian film is coming to theaters on April 30th for a one day special showing. Hidden Secrets stars John Schneider (perhaps best known for his role as Bo Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard series) and Tracy Melchior. Christian music singer Rachael Lampa also has a role.

Story Summary:

What if your deepest secret were suddenly exposed? Nine friends discover just how explosive it can be when their past becomes their present.

Reunited at the funeral of hometown hero Chris Hayden, the friends find tensions escalating rapidly as their darkest secrets are revealed. Jeremy (David A.R. White-“Mercy Streets"), struggling with his calling as a former youth pastor, is caught in an awkward love triangle between his new fiancée and his old flame Sherry (Tracey Melchoir-“Bold and Beautiful"). As the embers of the past relationship reignite, Jeremy’s fiancée Rachel (Stacey Keanan-“Step by Step"), who is determined to solidify their relationship, demands he affirm his commitment to her.

Meanwhile, Gary (John Schneider) questions everyone’s beliefs as this close-knit group of friends disputes world views, lifestyles, and personal passions. Pastor Wexler (Reginald Vel Johnson-“Die Hard", “Family Matters") encourages them not to give up but to follow the truth that Chris Hayden lived.
