Blood of Heaven by Bill Myers to be a movie?
There have been some rumblings about the possibility of Bill Myers' Blood of Heaven being made into a movie. In fact, Bill confirms the possibility (note: it's not definite) over at his blog. He says:"Got wonderfully sidetracked from writing the novel the last couple weeks with a producer who asked me to turn my book, Blood of Heaven, into a screenplay."
He also describes the plot for those who haven't read it yet:
"The story is a powerful one where they find a couple drops of Christ's blood, genetically introduce it into a human to see what will happen. The fact that the human is a multiple murderer makes it a little more interesting."
Bill's last novel to be turned into a movie was The Wager, starring Randy Travis.

Coming to DVD on December 4th, this film was based on a short story by Jerry Jenkins (of Left Behind fame) and directed by his son Dallas Jenkins.Dallas talked recently about some other new releases coming soon from Jenkins Entertainment:
We continue to develop "Mountain," based on the book, "The Man Who Moved a Mountain." This is our passion project and one that we desperately want to make by next summer.
We are also developing a movie based on Karen Kingsbury's book, "Moment of Weakness," for the Hallmark Channel. We had a great experience with Hallmark on our film, "Though None Go With Me" (also available on DVD).

Me & You, Us, Forever movie
A new movie is coming down the pike from Dave Christiano called Me & You, Us, Forever (click the picture for a larger version of the movie poster).Dave has this to say about the film on their website:
When Five & Two Pictures releases their movie, Me & You, Us, Forever, into theaters on February 15th; most Hollywood marketing experts would say they won't have much going for them.
How does a small company with very little promotional money and no big name actors put a movie in the theaters and expect people to come see it? The producer of the movie, Dave Christiano, has an answer.
"You do it with what you think and hope is a good story," said Dave, "a real love story."
Christiano has produced a film that is unique for Hollywood standards in that his love story won't have any sex or anything that even hints in that direction. Rather, his film is a sentimental drama that aims to touch the heart, is very real, and is something that anyone who has ever been in love can honestly relate to.
Me & You, Us, Forever is the story of a 47 year old Christian man who is on the other side of an unwanted divorce. Troubled by it all, he starts to reminisce about his old high school girlfriend, who was his first love, and whom he dated for 2 years, 4 months, and 28 days.
"A first love is hard to beat," states Dave. "When a 17 year old boy dates a 16 year girl for that length of time, during a stage of life when hearts are so very tender, you never forget or really get over your first love. To me, there is no greater feeling, and I've tried to capture that with this movie."

Fireproof movie update
Some new information on the movie Fireproof, being made by Sherwood Pictures (Facing the Giants, Flywheel). The release date is now being listed as August 2008, and we now have a summary:SYNOPSIS:
Lt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter's adage: Never leave your partner behind. Inside burning buildings, it's his natural instinct. In the cooling embers of his marriage, it's another story.
After a decade of marriage, Caleb and Katherine Holt have drifted so far apart that they are ready to move on without each other. Yet as they prepare to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb's dad asks his son to try an experiment: The Love Dare.
While hoping The Love Dare has nothing to do with his parents' newfound faith, Caleb commits to the challenge. But can he attempt to love his wife while avoiding God's love for him? Will he be able to demonstrate love over and over again to a person that's no longer receptive to his love? Or is this just another marriage destined to go up in smoke?
